Discretionary management
Once we have a thorough
understanding of
a client's
needs, investment
objectives, and investor
profile, the client
then hires us to provide
discretionary management
of their investment
portfolios (or to select managers for that service).
“Discretionary” means you authorize us to use our best judgment in the buying and selling of investments without first discussing the transactions with you.
Discretionary management clients typically receive monthly account statements directly from the account custodian, confirmations of all transactions, quarterly performance statements from SecondHalf, and 24/7 online access to view their account(s). The quarterly statements we send may be accompanied by commentary that includes our personal outlook on economic and market issues. We periodically reach out by phone to clients and occasionally email courtesy updates on transactions, unique investment opportunities, or related matters.
Non-discretionary portfolio review
If you have investments
that are currently
tied-up in your 401(k),
403(b), or other
group retirement
plan, we offer a
non-discretionary
portfolio review
service. Typically
this involves a quarterly
online review of
your portfolio allocation
and then an email
to you with findings
and any recommended
changes. In an employer
retirement plan,
we typically can’t
place trades for
you, so you would
need to implement
any recommended changes.
